Nutritional Value of Citrus Fruit

Citrus fruit are one of the largest fruit families that have been known and cultivated for thousands of years throughout the world.The term ''Citrus Fruit'' icludes different types of fruit and products wich are mainly winter fruits while some varieties are found all year round.

 

Oranges are the major fruits in the citrus fruit group, accounting for about 70% of citrus output,the group also includes small citrus fruit (such as tangerines, mandarines,clementines and satsumas), lemons and limes and grapefruits.

 

They can be consumed as raw fruit, juice or even used in aromatherapy with the production of essential oils. They are also very empowering and have a strong anti-oxidotik action, especially oranges and tangerines .

 

They are rich in A, B, C, B1, B2, B3, B6, C and E vitamins. Juice consumption should be done right after fruits have been squeezed and it is even more preferable citrus fruit to be consumed as raw fruits in order to avoid the destruction of vital vitamins included.
